    thanks from me as well, i couldn't log into facetime until i clicked 'set date and time automatically.' wacky, but it worked. thanks! ^

    yes thank you so much for this post facetime now works on my macbook pro had to go in the date and time settings but now i have the wrong time on my macbook can you tell me how to fix the time ? thank you

    you're welcome well now go to "Time Zone" and check "Set time zone automatically using current location" and you'll get the right time, hope this helped

         I found the real answer, it's easy and quick. It worked for me.


    1. Go to the apple in the top left corner of you screen

    2. Click "Software Update"

    3. There should be some updates with the java and such nothing spesificaly refferring to FaceTime

    4. Once you have installed the update (no rebooting requiered) go  to the apple in

    the top left corner of you screen again and click "Log Out (your name)"

    5. Then log back in

    6. Open FaceTime

    7. log in


    Now your Done!!!!! simple as that no re-installation, re-booting, or hardcore encoding!
