Cannot view my iTunes account info....after i sign in to itunes !

Hi

Looking for some help with an itunes issue im having.

I updated to itunes 10.5.2 yesterday and seem to be having an issue which may be related....

I can sign in to itunes fine with my apple ID. However when i click on account the sign in window appears. my apple Id is already filled in but it wants my password. i when i type it in , the same window appears again with the password field blank. I know im using the correct password ! cause i tried another one but it returned a red message saying it was incorrect

Checked if there was an update for itunes but it says mine is latest version

done a restart of the imac, but to no avail.

if i try to download a free app , i get the terms and conditions window, check the i agree box, then it comes back with a message " your request could not be completed. make sure your computers time and date are correct etc...then it remains on that screen and i have to sign out !

as an aside, i went across to the app store and signed in with the same apple ID. went to download a free mac app and got the terms and conditions window again.. agreed and the app downloaded fine

anyone got any ideas. im wondering is there an issue with itunes on the imac ? thanks

Exact same problem. I can sign into iTunes, and can even access my wish list.

But when I click on account, either in the pulldown on top right, or under Store in the file menu, it seems to accept the password, but the login window reopens with my user name filled in and waiting for the password.

Interestingly, when I go up to the pulldown menu for Store in the fie menu, "Sign In" is not available, only "Sign Out," presumably because I am logged into the store, but cannot log in to the specifics of my account.

I emailed Apple Support but got the usual baby-steps crap. I'm sure the problem is with Apple but they won't acknowledge it, just as they refuse to acknowledge that Safari's "block all cookies" has broken for months.

I have this same problem exactly as desribed and yet I'm posting 5 months after the original post. This seems to have happened since I changed my password. I seem to be able to get in on my ipad so the problem would appear to be on my mbp. This confirms the post above where problem was only on one computer. I'm going to try repairing disc permissions but it is not sounding that hopeful given rastarmans experience of trying same.

Just to add to this in case there is any confusion. As the first poster describes, I can log in no problem but when I try to view my account I get the window that asks me to put in my password (my account ID is already pre filled). No matter how many times I do it it just keeps coming back. If I put in the wrong password it tells me in red print that I have put in the wrong password. So I'm logged in, it clearly knows my password but is stuck in this loop of showing me the log in pop up.

Repairing system permissions did not work.
