I just received my new Iphone 4s and went to plug in the headphones that come with the phone and it seems that the plug is too small for the hole, I'd say at least a millimeter. Is it me or does anyone else have an issue with the headphone jackhole bigging to large?

If you can get to an Apple Retail store genius bar, have them check it, either the jack or plug may be out of tolerance and they can replace. More than likely it is the plug that is wrong and that would be a simple item to address.
The jack should be 3.5 mm stereo.
I know this doesn't really help when it is YOUR phone, but every piece is made to manufacturing tolerances. And yes, some items do get through the sampling process that are not in tolerance. Just a problem with statistical sampling vs total sampling. But that is another story.
If it were me I would head for the genius bar and explain the error of their ways and insist on a new phone.
Out of spec is not acceptable.
does the headphone hole look like this? And the jack when inserted should be a near perfect fit.
Just measured my iPhone 4 and it is right on 3.5 mm...just how loose is the connection you have?

Do you have another set of ear phones you can try? That would be a fast way of telling if the problem is the plug or the jack.
Yes I have tried several actually, all with 3.5mm jacks, none fit. Seems the Jackhole on the Iphone 4s is too large by about a millimeter. Seems like an odd issue for a new phone

Yes it looks like the pic, but when inserted it is so loose that it doen't even make contact and I can wiggle it around
By the way, the "hole" is the jack, what is inserted is the plug.
Sorry and thanks for the correction. But I guess I prefer the term "jackhole" in reference to this issue 🙂
I had the same problem. I thought the hole was too large. But I figured out you have to use some force to push it in all the way and it holds firmly.
