Interpreting Diagnostic Autotest Results

Hi All,

I have the IPOD 60GB 5G with the 1.1 firmware update. It failed the sdram test which I expected given what I've seen on this board but I also did the auto diagnostic tests. I went through every test that popped up and it ended (I believe it was the end of the tests) with a blue screen. Does anyone know what this means? Did my ipod pass or fail?

Where are these Diagnostic Autotests at ??? I haven't heard of them before.

You go into the ipod diagnostic mode by resetting your ipod by holding down the menu and select button for about 10 secs and before the apple logo pops up hold down the select and back button which will bring you into the diagnostic menu. The first test on that diagnostic screen is auto test.

ok, I did tha auto test and all my iPod said was auto test completed then it went onto manual tests. Sorry that I am no help.

Thanks anyway. Do You have the 60G or 30G? And Firmware 1.1 or 1.0?

I ran the test. It should say "Completed" with a green screen.

Yeah my didn't so I don't know what to make of it. But my ipod works perfectly fine so I'm not going to worry about it that much.

Also, unlike other people who have had problems with playing videos on their ipod 60gb with firmware 1.1 I haven't had a single problem except for this one file which I had with firmware 1.0 so I'm counting myself lucky with that one.
