safari locked by 'prizegiveaway.org' pop-up box - how can I clear this without opening/activating the pop-up ?

Hi - my Safari browser has been locked since a 'prizegiveaway.org' pop-up box appeared - I clicked the red 'close' dot in top left corner to close it & another pop-up then appeared saying 'Congratulations' & to click the OK button for prize details (an iphone 4) - I can't close the pop-up or open any other safari tabs - is there anyway to solve/clear this without opening whatever this pop-up represents ?

Brilliant "QuickTimeKirk". Holding down the shift key whilst launching Sarfari got rid of the blocking pop-up. Hopefully any potential nasties have gone also.

Hi, I switched off wifi and computer then re started and it has gone! hope no virus on my Apple Mac, think I will change my pass words.

This happened on my iPad, and it's an easy fix. Go to the Settings icon, scroll down to Safari, and then tell it to "clear history,"
