My iPad won't accept photos from iPhoto

Error message when trying to copy from iPhoto to the iPad via iTunes is "Some of the files, including "xxxxx.jpg", were not copied to the xxx iPad because they cannot be played on played on this iPad." I've copied files over in this manner before. Any suggestions?
