BullHorn Effect

Hi, folks! Please allow me to apologize in adavance if this has alrady been covered, but I did a search and couldn't find anything on the subject.
I am trying to figure out where to find a bullhorn effect in LP7. I realize there are ways to get that type of effect via EQ'ing, etc. - but I was wondering if there was a "bullhorn" effect. Thanks

yours?

maybe 25%

Probably more like 65 to 75% to the casual listener. Yes, if I wanted to emulate the sound of a particular bullhorn, then I might consider using an IR. But to go to all that trouble just for a "bullhorn" sound........

Actually I've been "into" IR's since the early eighties. After the first articles appeared in the AES journal it was introduced as "auralization" in the then cutting edge SysId software. Sonic Foundry picked it up later in the eighties with the Acoustic Modeler plugin, then Sek'D, etc. and finally 20 years later, Logic gets it. Works about the same as the old stuff did.

The "trouble" is in "aquiring" the bullhorn. If you had easy access to one, there would be no need to emulate its transfer function. Just record through it. At that point, yes, you could take an IR but the results wouldn't be as good. Besides, you'd still have to throw a hard limiter on it as the IR does not characterize the dynamics attributes of the bullhorn, (a major part of a bullhorns sound) only its frequency domain. So, after feeding your hifi speech through it, the full dynamics of the original speech (within that limited band) would still be there.
