iTunes says my 64GB iPad only has 58GB

iTunes says my 64GB iPad only has 58GB

I have a 3G 64GB iPad 2 but when I connect it to iTunes says it only has 58.12 GB, where has the other 6 GB gone and how can I get it back?

All the different things that come with your iPad when it is new , like apps etc, are what is taking up the space. It's the way it should be.

My 16 gig ipad only has 13 gig available. So quite common. 🙂

Not to mention the iOS which allows the iPad to run all of your apps. It is no different than what is listed for the hard drive capacity on a computer. The hard drive may have a total of 500 GB capacity - but it is not all available for use since the operating system and any pre installed applications take up part of that storage.
