I have a new Mac Mini Lion Server and only have wireless keyboard and wireless mouse. When I startup the Mac Mini and turn on the mouse and keyboard, mouse is connected but keyboard is not. I do not have a USB keyboard. How can I get the Mac Mini to recognize the wireless keyboard?

I just went through this couple days ago ... you have to connect mini to an USB keyboard in order to setup the wireless keyboard first, then use the wireless keyboard. I had to borrow a USB keyboard from my hotel (I was traveling when I got my mini) for 5 minutes.
Thank you thesix. This works but I had to go out to buy a USB keyboard. I would have much Apple had told me I needed to buy a USB keyboard at the outset. I would have much preferred if it was possible to begin the set up with wireless keyboard because there was no indication that I needed to buy a wired keyboard for set up.
This should not be marked as a correct answer because it is not an acceptable solution. I have a wireless Apple keyboard, no extra USB keyboards laying around, and the initial display screen indicates that I should be able to set up the computer with this keyboard. This is a problem, and I can't move forward with setup until this problem goes away. This is not a solution, folks.
Having the same problem right now. Got my Mac Mini yesterday. tried to set it up but the keyboard from my windows computer didn't map. Went and bought a wireless keyboard and magic pad today, couldn't get it to work. will try your advise tomorrow. if that doesn't work, will return the whole package and get another windows PC. i do like my iPhone though. Maybe Apple should stick with making phones. Very disapointed for my wasted time and lack of explanation. 😠😟
I have the same problem... The wireless keyboard doesn't connect with my mini server... I'm a little bit disapointed... I can't complete my installation... Tomorrow is an other day... Everything gonna be alright.. Hopefully :-)
