I've just brought an HP v210w usb flash drive. When i plugg it in to my Macbook Pro running OSX 10.7.2 it does not do anything at all. it does not recognise it nor does it give an error message. its like as if i haven't plugged anything in. Help...

I have had this problem where it does not show up on desktop but disk utility recognized it. I simply erased it and did not reformat it and it showed up ready to go.
It appeared on my desktop indeed!! Problem solved. Thank you.. ^^
Did you notice this thread is nearly a year old? Really no point in digging up old threads out of the grave.

try connecting the pen drive thru a usb cable. it worked for me.
This helped me. Unfortunately it kept some files but deleted all the ones I actually wanted.
Apple is too proprietary. I have the same problem. Apple needs to wake up. I am going to buy a HP tomorrow. This Junk Mac Book Air is going on Craigslist. Good bye apple.
