Hello,

My son receive, as a gift, an Iphone 4 from a friend who travel in Japan. This Iphone is locked in a network from Japan and I found on internet there is a posibility to connect to your site and meke something named "neverlock" paying a tax. Please help me to do this operation for use this item in a GSM network from Romania. Or recommend me a service here in Romania, if is not possible online, where to do this operation. This item has IOS 5.0.

the only one who can sim unlock an iphone is the phone company that locked it so contact the operator in Japan

The only supported way a phone can be unlocked is by the initiation of the carrier.

Any other method is not supported, involves hacking, and CANNOT be discussed on this forum.

All iPhones from Japan are permanently locked to Softbank in Japan. Softbank will NOT unlock iPhones. The phone is useless to you. Send it back to whoever gave it to him. He can't use it.

Thank you all for your kindly answers ! What I understood from your posts is: Any phone network can lock the terminals for using only in their own network, useless for another users, is a little bit strange, you buy a phone but can't use it... only like a Ipod touch or GPS system. Everybody says can't be done an neverlock, official, but everybody sugests (unofficial😁) to hack it ! Anyway, I read on some forums there is an official method to rewrite the informations on Iphone, (like rewriting BIOS on a motherboard) and it costs aprox 150-200 $. Is like buying another, new 🙂. But seems it wasn't true, it was a fake information...

Ok, my son can't use like a phone but can play on it like an Ipod touch... Is fair so !
