Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

So where are all the new promised fixes and features?

Did Randy quit or get fired? No one has seen him around lately.

So Apple, where are all these promised fixes and enhancements to FCP X to bring it back to the same functionality of FCP 7??

I really would like to know who did the "marketing research" before developing FCP X ... I think we all know that no one really did any.

Crickets?

Look Apple, if you're going to kill a product ... just kill it, nobody wants to pay $299 for iMovie Pro, not when there are so many other options on the market for less that do more. Did removing FCS 3 from the market help FCP X sales?? Not from sales data I'm looking at.

Ask Intel why they need the fastest CPU ... Ask nVidia/ATi why they need the fastest graphics card ... Ask ... you get the point ... and if you don't, let me spelll it out for you. "The high end niche market (read low sales numbers) DRIVES the rest of your market" Marketing 101 -- think you need some executives with a tad more in the IQ department.

Question stands, where are the promised fixes and new features?

Tom,

Come on, FCP X is #19 in top paid programs ... GarageBand #18. Being #2 behind Lion isn't say much at all for a new product and certainly doesn't indicate "usage". FCS 3 was #1 when it was released but that doesn't say much at all (too many other factors).

Why would I believe anything from Apple who openly admit to removing reviews and deleting threads. I'm just waiting for this one to be removed under any one of the Apple "reasons". I enjoy reality and that doesn't come from Apple.

Anyway, back on point. So the promised fixes and updates got pushed out to sometime 2012? I hope Apple do realize that Adobe's PP CS6 will be out by then leaving PP CS5.5 on sale for about the same price as FCP X. Or is this another genious plan from the marketing folks at Apple? Any sane person with a Mac would pick PP CS5.5 over a sometime 2012 update to FCP X.

Anyone seen a list of what's supposed to actually go into the FCP X 2012 "update"? Is it going to be a pay for upgrade or free?

BTW, "professional" grade software/hardware doesn't mean it can only be used by Professionals, it simply means it has features that help professionals, doesn't mean the UI (user interface) is more difficult to learn or use. What's easy for a consumer will be even easier from a professional ... flexibility doesn't imply complexity.

So where are all the new promised fixes and features?
