Hi, I own a MacBook Pro that runs OS X 10.7.2, does anybody know a website were I could download free text based games? I would really appreciate it, and if any one knows another game, other than the command emacs -batch -l dunnet, that would be awesome too.

Do not know about ALL available, but I have enjoyed this one where you navigate dungeons, negotiate with shopkeepers, and fight flesh golems (assuming your torches do not all run out 10 levels deep in the dungeon and you are effectively blind until bats eat you and you die!).
Has a Mac binary and an "text mode" version.
My humble opinion.
You can't forget Zork I, II, III. You need to download Boxer to run DOS games (in other words, don't download the Mac Version, because it needs to run in OS9 to work). You can also play it online just google it.
Go south.
You have entered a forest with a tall tree.
Climb tree.
You are at the top of the tree and you can see Cupertino off in the distance. A troll followed you up the tree.
Kill troll with sword.
Troll dies easily since it couldn't defend itself while climbing tree.
Eat dead troll.

Boxer is safe. It's just a DOS emulator, it's not MacKeeper! Before I got a while ago (I think it's been out a year), I tried it with no problems. It gets nothing but 5 star reviews from MacUpdate, which is relatively good.
It does take some knowledge of computers. And I have no clue if it works on 10.7, I haven't used it since 10.6. I might give it a try today.
I have no clue how it works, not in my base of interest. It's based on some open source projects to put DOS emulators on the Mac. It is pretty fast. It would be funny if you could install Windows 7 over it, but that might blow it up or something.
It appears to run on my Mac. I have Xcode, which is a free download from the App store.
I don't know what you mean by text based games, but your best bet to find one would be on the Mac App Store.
Text based games are games that do not have graphics, but display text saying where you are and what you can do; you type commands that control the character.
I already knew about the terminal command, but I just downloaded adventure, but have not opened it.

Is boxer a safe app, because I downloaded it and probably should have asked.
What is that, I looked on the website, but it was unclear if it was a terminal app or a game.
