Then what's the point of Ipads having bluetooth if its not supported? That makes no sense.

Not sure what you mean by syncing. I thought syncing is for music or something. How would Itunes see an Ipad when my network does not even detect the Ipad? I turned "home sharing" (not sure what this is) on within Itunes and I still cannot see the Ipad listed anywhere unless im looking in the wrong place. I'm on my laptop with the ipad next to me and I can't seem to somehow connect one with the other.

Is there a walkthrough as to how to add the Ipad to a W7 network or homegroup? that;s essentially what i need.

This is the purpose of bluetooth on an iPad. Bluetooth on the iPad is for connecting wireless keyboards, headphones, wireless speakers and some gaming uses bluetooth.

If you are saying that the iPad is not connected to your home WiFi network, that is something totally different.

Apple-Support-iPad WiFi Assistant

Tap on Wifi in the iPad settings and turn it on. See if it finds your network and if so, tap on it, enter the password and then tap join.

Unitl your iPad is connected to your WiFi network - you have to sync with iTunes by connecting the iPad to the computer with the cable - in order to transfer content from your iTunes library to the iPad. iTunes is the "vehicle" that transports the content to the iPad. You cannot just drag and drop content onto the iPad from your computer.

every bluetooth equipped item can be connected with eachother as long as they are within a reasonable range. It doesn't matter what devices they are. I can transfer files from my android phone to my laptop through bluetooth for example. I don't think i had my bluetooth turned on on my ipad which is why i was not able to pair it with my laptop. But again thanks for your answer.

As far as Wifi is considered, which is indeed something different, the ipad is connected along with my other 4 laptops, my phone and my wireless TV. Guess which device I cannot see as part of the network? The ipad. I think i will mess with it later but thanks for the walkthrough. I know windows fairly well but i dont know anything about iOS 😀. Thanks 4 the links - much appreciated.

I realize what you are saying but I am saying that file transfer via bluetooth is not supported "out of the box" on the iPad.

iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles

iPad: Using Bluetooth Keyboards and headsets.

But hey - good luck with that! Let me know when you figure out how to pair the iPad with the PC and you can transfer files.

Wow, quite a statement you've made there Andre. Even if you could pair your iPad with your Laptop via Bluetooth (as Demo correctly stated, this is not a supported function of iPad), you can't just transfer things from your iPad to your Laptop, or your Laptop to your iPad via Bluetooth. Period. Bluetooth on iPad is as Demo pointed out intended to support wireless headphones, speakers, keypads. Perhaps before you make bold statements about a device you don't seem to understand, you might want to read the iPad user guide.
