I can't delete an album on my iPhone 4

Anyone know how to delete albums that were synced from my computer?

I have deleted them before, so know it's possible, but for some reason, since the iOS5 upgrade, it's been made nigh on impossible. What am I doing wrong? I've followed everyone's advice in the support groups, but it's just not happening for me.....

Help? 😀

I cannot take credit for this. It is from an earlier suggestion but it worked for me.. Since I did not have the "delete file" Tab in iTunes that everyone speaks about, I was unable to easily delete my folders. Wasted hours and hours trying to find a solution Until I found this.

First, I backed up all my photos onto a memory stick, then deleted all the photos & the folders from my computer.

These are instructions from another member:

(0) Create an empty folder (I named mine Photo Stream)

(1) connect iphone to computer and launch iTune

(2) in the photos tab, check "sync photos from", select "choose folder", select the empty folder in step 0).

(3) Click Sync

(4) iTune will show an warning that photos on the iphone will be replaced with this new library but pictures taken by phone won't be affected.

(5) When syncing is done, those zombie albums will be gone.

(6) in iTune uncheck " sync photos from folder", and sync again.

I did change my iPhone settings so they would not sync automatically.

.

I also did a backup "to my computer" rather than into iTunes and it freed up a Mega amount of space.

Hope this works for you.

User uploaded file

If you can't see the image it says devices>sync Krystal's phone, Transfer purchases, backup or restore from back up. I have opened icloud unseleted the photos tab and then restarted my phone still no use.

Please help me figure this soultion out. I don't need photo stream or any other albums on my phone but camera roll.

Your doing it wrong. Its not device under the file tab. All you need to do is select your device as in your phone in the column on the left hand side. Do not click on anything at the top of the window. Plugg your device in and in the column on the left where you can normally see Music, Movies, TV Shows, Pod casts, Books, etc, etc, etc, etc. Just look for "Krystal's iPhone" there. It should pop up in that column as soon as you plugg it into your computer. Once you can see "Krystal's iPhone" in that column on the left just click on it and then at the top of the page in the middle window where you can see Music, Books, Movies, etc, etc. Click on Photo's. This is where you will see all your albums. Once you are here you can contiue with the proper procedure to remove the phantom albums.

Good luck....
