Why does iPhoto delete all my titles when I type them in.

Every time I add a title to a photo in iPhoto and then close the event, the photo is retitled to "untitled". Also it will randomly delete everything I've typed, or add a set of numbers into the title field while I'm typing. This is not user friendly, apple. Fix it. also do not tell me to start over, because I've done that. Twice. It has not fixed the issue ever.
