Iphone 4S takes really bad pics when using the flash. All the pics have a white haze. Is there a fix to this?

When I try and click pics in low light with my iphone 4s, the quality is really poor with a white haze on all the pics. The iphone 4 had a similar problem and I upgraded thinking they may have fixed this. We tried taking some pics on NY's eve with the iphone but the result was really poor. Switched to my wife's blackberry and got amazing results. So I guess its a software related issue. If blackberry cameras can give such amazing pics with a flash why cant iphones? Apple please fix.

I was about to take my phone into the store for help as I too had a haze on my pictures when the flash was used. After reading about the case causing a reflection I took it off and the pictures are fine!! I can't upload the pictures as I'm told they are too large and I have no clue how tor reduce them. YEAH! Problem solved! I knew this had to be "operator error" and not the phone.

Is it operator error... or a big name branded case that doesn't care about soaking you $30+ Buck-a-roos for something that cost then 35 cents to manufacture and then never tested for problems.

A case that interferes with probably the second most important feature of a smart phone is a manufacturer that just plain doesn't care about YOU at all.

I do believe I agree with you HolmanGT!! In my situation I don't have a big named brand of case (not apple that is). I had to purchase a real cute one on ebay that reflected my love for my doxie!! So I just now snapped on the $15 case I had purchased at Wal mart originally and the pictures taken with the flash were fine. So now I know my oh-so special case in honor of my dog, was causing the problem! Live and learn! Just glad I didn't spsend even more money at the Apple store for help. Thank goodness for forums!!

I'm really late on this but I finally got around to thinking about why my pictures were so hazey when trying to use flash at night or in dark situations. (Went to a bonfire last night and every pic i took had a haze). So I read thru this forum and first tried to see if there was a plastic film on my lense. There wasnt of course. Next I tried cleaning the lense even though it was clearly already clean. That didnt help either. So next I took off my White case and that fixed the problem. Now it takes great pictures. I'm thinking it could be the light reflecting off the white or whatever case you use that was creating the problem.

I have this problem too. I took pics with case and without case, but the result has no difference. There is white haze on the major area of the pict and really out of focus. Especially when taking pict of object that is located far from where I at. But then I realize that even I take pict of the closest object, it is still out of focus.

Anyone can help re this?

Oh, I don't have plastic cover whatsoever which covering the lense nor the flash.
