Can anyone tell me if there's a limitation to charging the iPad2 in a 2011 Honda Accord? I have three power outlets and when I plug in the iPad it says it's not charging. iPhone does, not iPad. Is this a limitation to this vehicle? Is there any work around/solution? I'm using iPad as GPs - love it, and need to mainting power.
The iPad requires a 2 amp charger while the smaller IOS devices such as an iPhone require only 1 amp. Check the specs from Honda. My WAG is that only one outlet is 2 amps while the other two outlets are only 1 amp.

You can try, instead of the 'cigarette lighter plug' charger for your iPad, see if a power inverter would help.

There are several 2-amp cigarette lighter chargers available in the Apple Store. Here's one with two ports.
Of course, we're not supposed to call them "cigarette lighters" anymore. They're "accessory power sockets!"
Although you get the message it's not charging, it is trickle charging. Suggest you fully charge using the AC power adapter before using the iPad in the car.
The quickest way to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter. When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge, but only when it's in sleep mode. Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
