How do I add custom labels in Contacts?

How can I add custom labels to my Contacts? A few if them recently allowed this but it is not available anymore. Specifically, I would liked to use or add the iPhone label that is not available to me at this time. Was this somehow lost in a minor software update? What is even more frustrating is that my wife's phone has the iPhone label as an option; same identical iPhone 4S (except for memory size and color) and same software version. Is there a setting somewhere that is affecting my phone? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In Contacts app, choose a contact, tap Edit and for example you want to change the phone label then tp the phone label and you can use whats on the list or add custom label.

Tap on the label itself not the number or anything else to get the list and custom label.

The option simply is not there any more. I am very familiar with the Contacts app and the option just isn't there. There must be a setting that needs to be changed or something.

Are you using an Exchange account to sync your contacts? If so, this could be the variable. The iPhone label and custom labels aren't available through this syncing method.

I tried this suggestion but my iphone 5 did not give me the option of "all from my PC." I use an imac, which might be the difference. Any other suggestions?

Should be "all from iCloud" if you want to use custom labels

I am wondering though if you can move a contact from Exchange to the iCloud. I don't know if this is possible.

I have only spouse, manager and assistant in my contact related name, and i cant add any other relationships, what can i do???
