Apple, please fix Animated GIF display in Safari

Seems to be a fairly common problem since 10.4 and Safari 2. Was hoping after today's update to 10.4.5 and Safari 2.0.3 (417.8) that we'd see the bug squashed but it's not. Not sure if this only effects animated gifs created in ImageReady or not but it's easy to see the problem.

Check out the following animated gif. Open in Firefox or Explorer first and then open in Safari to see the difference. By the way, this effects both PowerPC and Intel (Universal) builds of Safari.

Hopefully this can be addressed fairly quickly. It's driving a lot of people crazy.

Your animation gif works correctly in my Safari 2.0.3, but...

I have an animation on one of my websites and it doesn't work well at all. I can't figure why this is happening. I've heard stories that for some reason animated gifs that are on your computer, display on the web incorrectly. Anyone else had this problem?

Please take a look at this temp site:

I would appreciate any feedback.

Hi,

Which part of the website is supposed to display the problem gif file? I looked at the site in both Camino and Safari and it appears identical in both (I'm guessing you mean the image in the top right hand corner?)

What version of Safari are you using exactly? In 10.4.6 it's 2.0.3 (417.9.2). 2.0.3 covers a few different build versions.
