Change Apple Support User Name

I wasn't aware of your other thread. I haven't seen it, but it seems to have been removed.

Changing your own user name is not something you can do yourself, and that is unlikely to change. I thought perhaps that is what you might have been calling for, which is why I asked for clarification.

I will report your request to the moderators who hopefully will reach out to you. Note that when this thread was started changing the username associated with a user was much more difficult than it is now and therefore it was only done in exceptional circumstances. Several changes in the back end software have made it easier to do, but it still isn't a user controlled option like changing an avatar.

You need to wait until "your number comes up" for the Hosts to contact you

There is a good reason for a member not being able to change their own username - for example

I I were to suddenly change my username to Rumplestiltskin, everyone that knew me - and my posts - by ChitlinsCC would not be able to

1. find my profile to look at my content/activity - it is all under a "directory" in the information architecture
   ChitlinsCC > https://discussions.apple.com/people/ChitlinsCC
2. search for my content since posts by ChitlinsCC effectively no longer exists in the Content database

Nope. We are volunteers. Hosts have been alerted is all that we know.

They will EMAIL you - no PMs in AppleJiveWare (ASC software)

1) You may not have noticed but the "solution" to this community question is that "you can't" change your username. Why would I ask to do something that "you can't" do?

2) I have already posted requesting host assistance. Contact with Host Request Its interesting I get a response to my reply to a 6 year old thread before I get a response to my request for help.

3) I obviously have a concern with my username. I am not going to explain in public why its a concern -- that kinda would defeat the purpose lol 🙂

What does? If you'd like assistance with changing your username, which seems suitably anonymous, then ask.

This does not resolve the issue, nor does it answer the question. "You can't" is unacceptable. How can I change my Apple Support Communities user name?

i agree, richard; unfortunately i'll bet that Apple does not.

Which is rediculous, because I can't even provide feedback to them about this, because there is no such subject or department. It's not like they monitor these forums either.
