This worked. Turning off the IPV6 worked for me, too. Thank you so much!

The popup options come from the wifi network connection advanced tab.

The terminal commands would not work as is for wifi because they turn off ipv6 for Ethernet.

But the proposed solution fixed my 15006 problem and I am so happy.

My setup is as follow:

Mac mini connected with ethenet to airport extreme

Speakers in other room connected to airport express

Mac mini running itunes 11

Itunes playing streaming from my favorite radio station (premiere chaine radio-canada)

I have this setup since 2 years now. Had random disconnexion errors, brief interruptions, and now 15006 popup that requires a visit to the mini.

So far so good, seems like stopping ipv6 helps.

Actually, I was wrong. Setting the ipv6 off through the terminal was the way to go. To switch it off is not available in the UI choices.

I'm running OS v10.8.2 Mountain Lion and have been using Airplay from iTunes 10 thru Airport Express without issues. After updating to iTunes 11, all kinds of screwy stuff including this error just this morning (after using 11 for a couple weeks!). I'm a bit reluctant to disable things at the command level unless absolutely necessary and foud a post about rebooting the router. I rebooted my Airport Extreme and could comnnect to Airplay normaly. I've also noticed some disconnects with Apple Remote for iPhone and agree with everyone about Apple's QC on new products- it's really gone down hill!

Well, your post confirms my thoughts: my recent problems were dramatically worst after upgrading to iTunes 11.

I downgraded to 10.7 and things are smoother. If you want to downgrade, search for

itunes 11 downgrade pacifist

you should find plenty of instructions on how to do that if you filter out all the anger out there.

Thanks for the info, Claude. We'll see how the frustration goes with 11. Same error this morning after sleeping - with iTunes 11 running. I restarted iTunes and Airplay connected normally. There are things I like about it such as being able to edit songs in the queue to be played next. Play DJ, that's cool!

I only just started getting this issue when trying to stream to my Apple TV from iMac, even though streaming from iPad and iPhone worked just fine.

After trying all sorts of things, a simple reboot of the router did the trick. Simple fix!

S0 I was reading this forum, and didnt scroll down far enough after reading:

To disable IPv6 in 10.7 run the following commands in Terminal:

networksetup -listallnetworkservices

networksetup -setv6off Ethernet

This Terminal activity didnt help. I went and rebooted the router and Air Port. Now, iTunes sees the AirPort. But it wont connect. How do I undo the Terminal command.

Yes, I am replying to my own post.

In the event anyone else did what I did... I am leaving my comments up.

- I did the Terminal. Didnt fix.

- I restarted the router. iTunes no longer gave me the error, but would not connect.

- I went back into System Prefs<Network<Advanced<TCP/IP<Reset IPv6 to Automatic. Clicked ok. Clicked apply. Still no connect.

- I restarted the computer. Opened stupid iTunes 11.0.1. Connected to AirPort. Everything played as it should.

I hope this helps somebody.

Did it, and restarted iTunes and it worked again flawlessly. I now can AirPlay between Apple TV's and AirPort expresses without delays or errors.

Your first active network interface should be en0. If you have more than one network interface configured you might also have an en1, etc. Basically anything that has an IP address is an active interface.

In my case I have one active interface en0. I fixed the problem by running the following command "sudo ifconfig en0 down" - this will shut down the interface and effectively KILL ALL active and stale connection associated with it.

next I did a "sudo ifconfig en0 up" - turns the interface back on - if your using DHCP you will aquire an IP address or you pick up the a statis IP address if that is how you've configured your network preferences.

You can run the commands on each configured network interface to "reset" it; this procedure should work. I'd love to hear about your (or anybody elses) experience using this solution.

Tesserax buddy, you are amazing. I applied your stuff and it worked. Basically I optimised the transmission between the source (iPhone, iPad, mac) and the Airplay device by setting the airport router „closer” to the devices so the signal noise difference and transmit rate would be maximum.

One way to do that is to get the at least the router and airplay device in the same room or connect the airplay device with the router via ethernet.

I think this did it! I spent most of the day yesterday trying to figure this out. I'm running a test now and it looks like both my AE and Denon receiver are running without dropping since disabling IPV6 on my Mac Mini
