Many LaserJet 1102w's need a firware update in order to get AirPrnt support. You can get the firmware here:
Seems long to me, but itmwould, depend on the size ofmthe update, network speed, yada yada. I am tryingnto remember the steps, when i did mine, and i just cant. At some point you probably have to turn the printer off, so it can reboot. When it looks like it is done, it should, say so on the panel.
Worst case, when you are tired of waiting, reboot the printer, and see if it now shows up on your padmwhen you try to print. If not, simply trymthe firmware update again.
Where is control panel on printer? I'm talking about the hp laser jet pro P1102w. Will the printer (once it's attach'd to wifi) find its own update? This is a 2014 vintage printer. I read that the older ones of this model (i.e. 2010) didn't work at all.
You might want to try the firmware update from the control panel on the printer. The hp guys say to let the printer itself find and install, for a smoother process.
Thx, updating the printer frmware now ..been running for 20 mins, is this normal?
they likely talk about a control panel on a computer with the hp software installed
it will be unlikely to automatic download firmware that would be seen as a security liability
