Missing Infrared Receiver Option
Hi Everyone,
I've been searching around about this issue for a bit but haven't found any solution yet, so might as well ask it here.
I have an old Macbook Pro (Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz, 15", bought in Jan 2007). I upgraded to Snow Leopard from Tiger a couple months ago and It was ok. I tried using my remote control, however it does not work. Apparently after diagnosing, the battery is dead. I replaced the battery, however it still does not respond to my macbook.
I tried googling the issue, and there are a few posts suggesting that the infrared receiver option might be disabled and i have to turn it on. However I can't seem to find an option about it in the security >> General. I read in another link that I might need to do a clean install of Snow Leopard, and I did. Still, I can't find the configuration option in the security settings. I can confirm that my macbook has the Infrared port next to the unlocking latch.
I'm sorry if i posted it to the frong subforum, I was going to post this in Macbook Pro section 🙂
Looking forward to hear from you soon. Cheers and thanks in advance.
