Apogee Duet (Firewire) need to reboot

Hi,

I'm running Logic Studio, OS X 10.7.2, and a first-gen Firewire Apogee Duet. If I start the Duet (plug into FireWire) and configure the input, I can't get an input signal from a guitar or a mic. But if I then keep the exact same settings and reboot the machine (checking "reopen windows"), then the same apps start up fine and I get an input signal from the Duet. This is a drag, as I essentially need to reboot the machine every time I want to use the Duet. Has anyone else run into this, or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

update: i did some reading today and tried something people were recommending: open Activity Monitor and quit the duetDaemon process (it will restart the process immediately but that's ok). voila the duet works normally again, no need to reboot. Hope they fix this issue but in the meantime doing this is way quicker than restarting the whole machine! (fingers crossed this works more than once). hope that works for you too.
