Customized CD/DVD Icons

Need help. Trying to have a custom Icon for CD/DVDs. After burning the disk, the custom icon reverts back to the default icon (looks like a generic disk). I'm using 10.4.4 as my operarting system. Did not have this issue with 10.3.x. I know the CD/DVD process has changed from the two operating systems.

Does anyone have an idea to get the custom icon to stick and/or point me in the direction for documentation on this process. Thanks for your help

Problem solved! Although it pains me that this isn't as easy in 10.4 as it was in 10.3...Come on, Apple! Anyway!

This isn't my genius idea, I got it from another topic similar to this one from a user called "Nyarlathotep." Here it is:

1. Open Disk Utility and create a read/write disk image for whatever format you want (CD/DVD).

2. Double-click the image (once it's created) to mount it. Ctrl-click the mounted 'disk' (the blank white disk icon) and Get Info. From here on it's just like changing any icon...click the icon in the Get Info window and paste the new icon on.

You can also set custom views in addition to changing the icon.

3. Burn the image to disc using Disk Utility; when it is mounted, it'll have your custom icon, not a generic disc icon.

Hope this helps! And that they bring the Panther style of doing this back with Leopard!
