Quicktime Animation Render and Obsolete Grid Effect... Bug?
I think I have found a bug for the first time in my life. Here's what's going on:
I created a Keynote presentation with Keynote 2 and then opened it in KN3. If I hit the Play button all is well looks awesome and I love the way Highlighted bullets now dim slowly instead of popping off.
Here's where the weird stuff starts.
I am rendering the 10 Keynotes out as Animation 60 Frames per second (so that the text effects are really smooth for video) I am using them for a corporate video. All looks fine right up until the last transition. I use the Grid Effect "UP" for the first transition into the presentation and the Grid Effect "DOWN" for the last transition out of it. The "UP" looks exactly like it should, the "DOWN" looks really funky, I would be happy to include a picture but I don't know how, maybe if anyone is interested I'll post a quicktime to my .Mac account.
Anyway, here are the settings I am using:
Playback Control: Self-Playing Movie
Slide Duration: 5 Seconds
Build Duration: 2 Seconds
Repeat: None
Formats: Custom:
Video: Full Size
720 x 540
Compression: Animation
Motion:
Frame Rate: 60
Key Frame Rate: 0
Data Rate: 0 KB/sec
(Key Frames and Data Rate are set to Automatic)
Millions of Colors / Best
No Audio
During the render it all looks fine in the little preview window but then when playing it in Quicktime it looks like the Grid Effect chokes at the end and does NOT look like the grid effect should. I am probably going to have to use Keynote 2 and combine the 2 versions of my presentation in Final Cut Pro. It's just weird what is happening. I have tried different effects and they seem okay but just this little simple (yet obsolete 😉 effect isn't working right. Looks like someone left something out of the code on this one. Hopefully it will get resolved quickly.
Let me know what else you need from me and I'll be happy to accommodate.
I have tried this on 2 machines and still have the same problem. Also a fresh, clean install on one doesn't fix the problem.
