how to open documents side by side in "preview"?
I am trying to compare 2 documents in "preview" application, but I can't see them at the same time! Clicking back and forth is not convinient.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7)

Download Developer Tools, and look for /Developer/Applications/Utilities/File Merge.app
It will put files and/or folders in 2 windows and allow for many comparisons.
Thanks, mackjack. I am new to Mac, and I thought there was an easy button/property/option somewhere, like in in PC. But apparently there isn't... I am disappointed with apple... There are so many common sense things that are just not there!
By default, Preview opens multiple documents one under the other in a window, which is not as useful for comparing the following tip, is not exactly what you are looking for, but close.
Preview> Preferences> General> select the Open Each Document in Separate Window. Now, when you drag multiple documents onto the Preview icon, each one will open in a separate windows.
I never worked on a PC, so I don't know. As Rysz states you can certainly have 2 side-by-side preview windows opened at once. If you want further functionality it is easy and free to download X-code and have the utility. You can also do a search on MacUpdate for any other utilities with that kind of functionality.
Thanks, Rysz. that was it.
Do you by any chance know how to see what windows I have open? In PC, there is a bar down the bottom that lists all open windows. I often work in many applications and windows, so I need to swtich between them quickly. In mac, I can see what apps are open, but not exact windows. In order to see what windows are open, I first need to go to the app, then click on it and only then I could see windows.
There's a number of ways to see what's open. They are all managed by the Mission Control panel in System Preferences, but can be invoked by moving the mouse pointer to hot corners, clicking on the Mission Control icon in the Dock or hitting function keys. The ones I use the most is having the upper-left corner set to show all windows and lower-right corner to show the desktop.

There is an App called Cinch that you can download from Apple App Store, for $7; it works great!
