iTunes Match stuck on Step 2

Since adding a couple of new albums to my library, iTunes Match has been stuck on step 2 for more than 24 hours, having successfully checked everything except for these 25 new tracks. I've stopped and restarted the process several times. Any ideas?

There are currently problems for some users with Apples servers, which is causing Matching to stall. My advice would be to stop the process and try again later.

It is possible that you just have some problematic tracks, but I'd say it's quite unlikely. Some people have given advice about how to deal with this, if you want to have a read, but what you report is consistent with the general experience and I'd save yourself the bother if I were you.

I would report it to Apple though. The more reports that they get the better.

If this is of any help/comfort to anyone. Thinking this was just my problem I have tried everything, including setting up a new computer with fresh itunes library and trying to add a single song. I also tried to delete a previously matched song and then re-add. Nothing worked, stuck on step 2.

However, my work colleague, who also has itunes match, repeated the experiment, and it all works for him. He sits right next to me. So, it is a per-account rather than geography problem.

I am based in the UK, have around 6000 songs successfully loaded before it stopped.

I phoned apple support, who couldn't help me immediately but offered to send an email to the itunes server team, no reply as of yet.

At the very least Apple need to communicate with their customers. These are early days for the cloud and many of us are just beginning to think about which provider we will form a long term relationship with. I believe apple should offer an extension to the subscription if they want to keep the customers they've been frustrating. I for one have cancelled my automatic subscrption until I see how this pans out.

Just an update... After seeing some of these post this morning I gave my match another try. Immediately it went through step 1 and set 2 stopping at my 6100 songs. It took about 10 minutes after that to add the new album I put into itunes yesterday. So, I think all is good once again, and I had FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH for the drive in today.➕ WOOOOOOT!! 🙂🙂 ➕

I'm another victim of this issue!

I did successfully use iTunes Match on 4 different devices: 1 Mac Mini, 1 MacBook Pro, a PC and an iPhone 4S.

Lately, I cannot add new songs to iCloud, they get stuck on "waiting" status.

I did contact the AppleCare BELGIUM 3 times by phone with no helpful tips! 😠

ℹ 1x 20 minutes yesterday.

They told me ridiculous stuff like:

"You must add music from the computer you used to sign up to iTunes Match"

This is a lie, I could do it on all the other devices before!

"You cannot have your iPhone connected during this synchro process"

Did not help either. And this is RIDICULOUS.

ℹ 1x 25 minutes this morning

The guys I had on the phone took me little more serious but my previous "help ticket" was closed! what what what?

He asked me to remove all the songs pendings as "Waiting", synchronize with iCloud, then finally add a single song and see what happens.

I did it with no luck what so ever!

ℹ 1x 10 minutes right now

The lady did not help me much, she just said, we had another call about that today, you have to send a mail/chat throught the support of apple.com no such thing on the Belgian part of the apple.com site and impossible to get to a chat in the French part either!

NOBODY FROM APPLE READ THE DISCUSSIONS???

I've been seeing tons of topics and no word from the teams about this issue!!!!

I'm really frustrated by this issue.

Apple uses to provide quality services, where did they go?
