ibook g4 dead-no power all

I have a ibook g4 1.33 A1133 with no power. No action at all when push the power button. No fan, no hard drive spin, no backlight, no start up sound- Nothing. Power cord charges the battery and showed to 3 green lights. Tried another battery. Power cord light green-cord is from another A1133. Seems as if getting no power to start the computer up. Tried the Power Management reset and nothing and also tried resetting the PRAM. Just totally dead. What should I suspect is wrong? Also courious, there is a magnet under the keyboard-what is it for? Thanks

iBook, iOS 5.0.1, a1133

I would suspect the logic board.

My iBook G3 800 Mhz went back in for logic board repair, and when it came back it would not run from the battery at all (although it did run fine when connected with the adapter).

The magnet under the keyboard is a part of the reed switch assembly which sleeps the iBook when you close it.

From an explanation on an archived article on Small Dog Electronics' website:

The reed switch is the little part that puts the computer to sleep when the lid is closed. It is made of two small pieces of metal that overlap each other. When the case is closed, a small magnet causes the metal pieces to connect and close a circuit. When you open your iBook, the connection is released and your screen lights up.
