I have used MathEQ from www.livemath.com
For iBooks to be at all useful for physical sciences, solid support for mathematics is a must. MathType is not an acceptible workaround since one needs to have equation numbering, in-line math expressions, complex symbols, etc...all of which are already in LaTeX.
For Chem., one needs a means to embed 3D structures and chemical info, such as done with jmol.
Actually, come to think of it, Mathematica does most of this already...just not very well.
MathMagic v8.0 supports PDF for Copy and Paste, or Drag and Drop.
You can simply drag your equation from MathMagic equation editor window to iBooks Author window.
Your equation or symbols will be inserted in high quality PDF format including Color support.
PDF equation can be dragged or pasted back to MathMagic window for re-editing, so no need to retype or save a backup copy.
As MathMagic supports MathML and TeX, you can bring your TeX or MathML expressions into MathMagic window, then to your destination such as iBooks Author or Keynote.
Free trial available for up to 100 equations, from mathmagic.com
Did somebody tried "Equations" from the appstore ?
Hi there is an option to do it. Here at Micrologic Global Services we embed mathml to epub in epub 2.0 format which really looks perfect and equations look amazing tested and confirmed, for sample preview ask us
Siva,
I would very much like to see samples of your work of porting MathML into epub(2). Thanks in advance.
SlavenJ,

i was using mathtype and i works perfectly with pages and ibooks author ..
go to insert in the toolbar you'll find mathtype equation it will link automatically
It works also with the Microsoft Equation Editor... if you have Microsoft Office. Then you'll be able to play with Ctr+C and Ctrl+V.
Otherwise, try DAUM EQUATION EDITOR... it's free.
Have you submitted this in Apple's iBA feedback? Apple are unlikely to see these posts.
