How do I set pdf magnification default in Safari?

Everytime I open a PDF in Safari 5 it opens them at 266% - no matter what I did on the last pdf. How in the heck can I set it to 100% as the default (or even smaller) ever time I open an pdf? Please, this drives me nuts.

I USE to be a Level 3 with hundreds of post ... no seriously, Mac OS X (10.5.8), Loaded G5 + 30" Dell + MBP 17"

I dont have that, but I do have

com.adobe.Reader_ppc_9.0.plist

I removed it and restarted Safari - I see no reason to restart ones whole computer for a preference delete as the delete should suffice and it did ask for me to accept the T&C when I opened a PDF which tells me the old pref was deleted. But it did not work. Opens, as usual, huge and always in "fill wdith" mode which in a 30" browser is like 280%.

Nice try though.

Yes, really. You should back up all data even if you don't enter the shell command. I never advise people to make any change to their data without backing up. Besides which, any advice you get on this site, or anywhere else, may be wrong. The first version of the command that I posted was wrong. Always be prepared for unexpected data loss at any moment.

You nailed it... that seems to be it.

Only downfall with this metod is that since you dont use the Adibe PDF plugin, but your using the nativeSafari pdf handler, you can't resize or search, etc. Those advanced pdf options are not available now. But you know, I will take that over having to resize constantly.

Thanks!
