magic mouse alternative?

I've about had it with the magic mouse. Ever since I got my computer a few years ago, I have fought the battery problem enough. I don't have rechargeables, I've tried different regular batteries to no avail. They all last about 3 weeks before they start telling me "low battery". This is ridiculous. I've read some of the past threads concerning this and all the buying this and that to check the voltage and measure this and that. I don't have the time nor inclination to do that in order to use my computer that I paid a lot of money for and think the mouse should work better than it does. Is there a mouse available for the Imac that actually still uses a USB cord? I don't care if it's wireless or not, as long as it works!

There is an alternative wired Apple Mouse that you may be intersted in if you don't want to bother with batteries. http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MB112ZM/B?fnode=MTY1NDA1Mg&s=topSellers It has a scrool wheel which moves any way so you can user that like the gestures on ther magic mouse.

I read a lot of the reviews and agree that there are a lot more than the mighty mouse postively rated. But I can't get past the $70 price tag. Im actually looking for something that will make this mighty mouse problem a thing of the past but not that expensive. I'm a tightwad. 😁

Thank you. I think this may be the thing I'm looking for. Being able to have rechargeables for both the keyboard and mouse is just what I'm looking for, and being able to keep the cost down is even better yet. I did read the same thing you mentioned about the lower charge level and apple explains it somehow..I just don't remember exactly either. 😉
