Your bank has an iPhone app available via the app store?

If so, what would the Safari browser settings have anything to do with your bank's iPhone app? There is no security setting with Safari or with the iPhone that would prevent your bank's iPhone app from working. Any problem in regards to your bank's iPhone app is the responsibility of your bank.

If your bank doesn't have an iPhone app and you are using Safari for access, what does you cannot access it mean? You can't login or something else and is any error message provided?

I finally figured out that I had the wrong cell phone in the bank’s records. I don’t know why nobody could translate the long, long error code and tell me this.

Even after I corrected my error, the mobile access can be erratic. I open my account, I ask the account summaries, and then ask for the transactions. Poof! An error. I restart and I get the desired information!

I have problems like this three years later.

One of our banks gives “An Error Occurred While Accessing Your Request” when accessed via cellular through a browser on a laptop or an iPhone, and a disconnect message when accessing through an iPhone app.

However, if either device is connected to Wi-Fi then we have access.

We do not have this problem with the other bank.

My bank and its website provider say that my internet provider is changing IP addresses while I am online. My internet provider says that it is not changing IP addresses.

Anybody else caught between a rock and a hard place like this?

Allan,

I'm having the same, or similar problem accessing my bank online with Safari. I also could, until about a week ago. The bank page, web site call, will not open. I've been in contact several times with the bank and they say it's a Safari problem, or my computer, but I'm a novice and have no idea what to do to fix this. I'm guessing the iMac setting somehow is the problem, because of the recent security download that may have changed something. Suggestions? Incidentally, other browsers do not work for this web site / page either.

I gave up on the bank and opened accounts at my wife's bank. Connections work fine: cellular and wi-fi. We have the added advantage of moving money online between our accounts. Sure beats writing a check on one bank and depositing it in the other. The only downside is our current bank doesn't have a downtown office and free ATMs are only at the bank's three locations.

Ironically, later I switched to AT&T from Consumer Cellular. When I was discussing the problem with the first bank one employee said she used her AT&T phone to access her account without a problem. Strange in the Consumer Cellular piggy-backs on AT&T's slower service. Strange also that the bank's service provider doesn't even list Consumer Cellular as a possible connection. Consumer Cellular is one of the heaviest advertised services.
