Red screen on MacBook Pro
Hello,
This is my first post here on the forums and I would like to ask a question about my MacBook Pro I can't find an answer to.
I have a MBPro (2006) OSX 10.4.11 and recently the screen has gone red where Black should be (please see attached images)
I know that it is a problem displaying Black because I have tested a black solid movie file (just a black image playing for 4 seconds) playing as a Quicktime movie on the desktop, and it shows the same red pattern when playing.
Then when I play the same movie file on another MacBook Pro it plays as a black solid movie, not patterned.
If I change the desktop dispaly to solid colour or an image with lots of colour it displays without any problems (the pattern only shows up if there are any black areas in the image)
I took the machine to a local Apple Store and the ran a diagnostic test, and all parts were ticked as working. Also I have run Apple Hardware test and rebooted in various modes all without any change.
So, has anyone suffered the same problem and does anyone know how to fix it.
Many thanks and any advice/ help is appreciated.
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.11)
