Apple TV
Just got off the phone with Apple. They are working on the problem with YouTube but didn't give a timeframe as to when the problem might be resolved.
Same issue here in Canada.
I think Apple has more to do with it than they are admitting because it has taken all day to download a movie rental and all my other Apple computers are downloading at usual speeds. Only having issues with my Apple TV 2nd gen and it started today at some point.
I was actually relieved to see that I was not the only one because a power outage earlier today made me think that the unit had suffered some damage since youtube worked on all the other Apple equipment I had that is battery powered!
has anyone gotten an actual answer to this?
I'm in Canada too and have had the problem since Sunday 1/22.
Same here in Maryland since yesterday.
Oh boys, why didnt you tell me first.. (or why I didnt check this discussion site first..) I've already tried to reset my ATV2, but nothing has been repaired.
Seattle, WA, U.S.A. Same problem. (It worked perfect last night though.)
I am now using iPhone ==> Airplay.
Same problem here in Hong Kong. My brand new Apple TV2 used to work fine for the first 2 days connecting YouTube but now it says there is no connection. Can Aplple please do something?
same in sydney australia!
Same in the Netherlands...:( New Apple Tv worked first 5 days ok, until yesterday...no connection
Lets fix it
Same problem in France
Also facing problem in UAE DUBAI since yesterday with you tube connectivity with Apple TV.
Hello everybody,
Same thing, here, in Nice France.
What is amazing is that we have no sign from Apple, no information, as if we where nobody !!!
You know what, I think that as Apple is increasing in power, they are decreasing, quite diving, very, very very quickly on the matter of quality !
You know what ? I'm angry !
UPDATE:
I'm in Houston, Texas and we have had a really bad storm system pass through town late norning. A lot of high winds, tornados, and lighting. I unpluged all my gear and pulled it off the net. After about 1300H local time it was safe to reconnect everything.
After bringing everything back up I checked my ATV1's and wasn't able to pull up YouTube Top Rated. I tried my channel FAVORITES and that worked. I then tried my SUBSCRIPTIONS and that worked. I then backed out to the YouTube splash screen, and then all of the FEATURED tiles updated.
Everything seems to be working now..... (YAY!!!)
Anyone else report in on status?

As I posted on another thread that Houston, Texas was back up.
I really want to know who's bright idea at Apple to have the users to jump through all these hoops of erasing the units and reinstalling software... REALLY? COME ON APPLE... YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT.
Apple you need to have better proceedures than that. How about having someone in a lab setting try testing the problem before you have users erase all the data on the unit. There goes all the favorites and wishlist settings. I can see a re-boot or power-cycle, I get that but to erase and reformate. JEZZZZZZZZZ that is down right S T U P I D!!!!
This could have been corrected SOONER, if better troubleshooting proceedures were used; instead of sweeping things under the run (so to speak). The idea is if it gets bad enough, that there were be multiple users complaining and then Apple will get off their duffs and do something. MY GOD, Apple has enough money to take care of these sorts of things in a reasonable and cost effective manor.
It's not that things weren't working or broke... that is life... but to just wait until it gets to a critical mass before trying to work on a real world problem is shoddy!

Just checked here in Los Angeles. You Tube is back up and running on all 3 ATV. I didn't reboot, erase or install anything. It just reappeared. All is well on that front.
Good in Utah also. However, there is a problem signing in to youtube. Every time that I try(and double checking my typing), I get the message that my user id or password is incorrect - try again. Anyone experiencing this problem??
