Problem with YouTube connection

I'm having problems with Youtube as well. I have an iPod Touch 4th Gen, and I have the Apple TV2.
I went to the Youtube app on my iPod first, and when I go to Playlist, it says "YouTube is not available" But videos play elsewhere.

I then went to see if this was happpening on Apple TV's Youtube app, and yes; it is. When I go to my playlist, it says "content is not available", but vidoes play elsewhere.

Same problem in Ecuador.

I posted that I had the same problem here in Cincinnati OH some 24 hrs ago. I'd like to report that as of about 10:15 pm EST, i could access YouTube via the native application on my ATV2. I wish that Apple have posted that it was a system wide problem so that we didn't have to mess around resetting, restoring, etc our units. They could have posted a notice on the website or sent an e-mail (they send mass e-mail to advertise productes and services)

Yes, I do agree.

It would have been nice if Apple could have done the right thing, and posted SOMETHING somewhere on the support page indicating they were aware of a problem with YouTube video availability on AppleTV devices.

I read here that some users even paid $49.95 for out of warranty support, only to find out that it was a problem that was not a user problem, but, possibly an Apple or YouTube problem, one that should not be chargeable.

Since I was out of warranty, I was not about to approach Apple for support, especially since I saw this site with users all over the world having the same issue.

Still would have been nice to have seen something from Apple, however.

Everything was working fine last night now MY PLAYLISTS showing "no content was found" please confirm guys if thats the case with you as well thanks

Hi all, just tried the YouTube again, it was working suddently with no reason.

I think Apple can handle it better, where the error message on ATV should say something like Server down or Maintenance, etc instead of No connection or No contend found....., who knows what is going on!

Suddenly Youtube is working on Apple TV but not playlists in Wisconsin

It's hard to figure out where to post this problem-- but here goes:

The YouTube "outage" probelm has been fixed as of Jan 25, 2012---however there is now a new issue regarding accessing "playlists"-----on my Iphone 4s, Ipad2, and Apple TV 2, I get this error message "YouTube Not Available" when trying to access my playists. I can access them with NO problem on my PC. Only problem is with Apple devices.

Favorites and searching seem to be working, but playlists are kaput for now on iOS.

i'm from Germany and my ATV2, newest firmware, won't still connect to Youtube as discribt above. Any suggestion? Has anyone that problem too?

Same in Texas! Cannot connecto to YouTube. I have tried every thread of advice i have read. Nothing has worked. Please, apple, advise asap. you have solved many problems in the past. I hope that this problem gets resolved soon. Thank you to anyone who can help.

So I had this same problem after updating the OS in my first gen ATV. Fixed it.

Symptoms:

Cannot connect to content in YouTube

Network test says can't connect to Apple.

The fix:

I went into the general settings menu > network > TCP/IP >manual > then changed the DNS server IP to 8.8.8.8, exited the menu and tried another test. It failed, I put the ATV to sleep, turned it back on then went back into TCP/IP and did automatic this time > Successful. Did another network speed test, it completed successfully.

Here is the catch. When I go into YouTube history it still gives me the error, but if I search it from the YouTube search feature it works fine now. Hope this helps.
