Sounds like the iPhone you purchased did not originate from Saudi Arabia.

It's the only way there is. Restoring the iPhone will not get you Facetime, no matter what SIM you use. This has been verified by numerous people who've tried just what Khaled claimed would work and had it do no good.

I guess FaceTime is NOT an option of Carrier meanwhile Personal Hotspot is an option of the carrier.

FaceTime relies on WiFi and not on 3G or Mobile Data (Carrier)

Now based on the issue that apple has defined market selling strategies, availability of FaceTime is a property of the operating systems of the machine (iOS) and accordingly geographical laws.

I have no other points to add except that I am encouraging to have more ideas since it is helpful for users, sellers, and new buyers - and it is also helpful for me.

I have the same issue. I don't have facetime app on my 4s which I bought in Doha Qatar. I think Mr Khaled and I experience the same thing. When I was in Doha, I bought my iPhone in Vodafone Qatar, which is a factory unlock. Facetime is not banned in Doha so I've used it and experience it there. When I changed my sim card the facetime app disappears. When I put back on the sim that comes with the iphone the app appears. Now I'm here in Manila, and still no facetime. I've tried everything restore to latest and all but still no chance. Is there anyone knows how to fix this problem?

Is this UAE barring of facetime the reason why my wife and i can't use facetime over wifi using our iphone 5s whilst she is in abu dhabi?

I'm sorry, but the case that your United Arab Emirates iPhone 4S cannot have FaceTime installed on it. The cause of this is the UAE government, which decided to "cripple" FaceTime from their iPhones.

Hi guys ... Try this and let me know if it works!!!

First go to AppStore from your device and then go down and click on your apple Id then click view then change the Region from UAE or KSA to UK or USA then save .. Close and go back to settings you will find FaceTime .i tried on iPhone 4 in UAE and it works

Hi, thanks for your post. I had bought an iPhone 4S in UAE . I am now n United Kingdom. I have inserted various uk sims and have also restored it to factory settings, without success. Any other hints?
