Is MacKeeper a Malware Application?

I purchased this application on line many months ago... I have not noticed any issues..... Can anyone confirm that it is a Malware?

100% agree with Kurt. Your Mac is perfectly safe if you browse with care and download from reputable sources. Mackeeper, or Zeobit, as it emanates from, do not qualify for that title. And while I'm at it, Downlite, Softonic, Cnet should equally be avoided.

Your mac needs no anti-virus, though ClamX AV is recognised as a safe download if you must have one. The best approach is, check via these columns if you have any doubts and only download direct from the developer. The group of rogues above are not developers, and have been known to manipulate programs and inject malware into them.
