FONT BOOK: Can't delete fonts from a collection.

For a reason I dont' understand, I am unable to remove fonts from collections. It happens sporadically. I have tried validating fonts, turning them off, or on, but nothing seems to help. I use the commands under the actions "gear" icon or I go to the file menu. Still nothing happens. I have tried restarting, having no other applications open.

What can be happening?

Hi, Pat. Welcome to the Discussions.

Check the Ownership and Permissions settings in the Get Info window of your Home > Library > FontCollections folder. The Details sub-panel of the Ownership & Permissions panel should show your account as Owner of this folder, with Access of Read & Write. If either of these conditions is not met, make changes accordingly using the pop-up menus.

Note that removing a font from a font collection or font library you have created does not remove the font from the computer: it simply deletes it from the collection. To remove a font from your computer, select the All Fonts Library, then Control-Click the font to be removed in the Font columns, then select Remove from the resulting context menu. Confirm your intent to remove the font. The selected font is moved to the Trash. Use this function carefully.

Good luck!
