Unable to purchase.

I start having this problem since last Friday. When i go into an App Store on my iPhone 4s and try to download any app I get this error message; "unable to purchase. "Hanging With Friends" and other items could not be purchased at this time. Please try again later". First of all, I already have Hanging installed in my phone. So I click OK,the error messages goes away, and then I asked to put in my password and the phone would start download the app that i wanted to get. Along with that few other apps that i previously owned pop up on my screen with "waiting" status. ones i touch any of them, they go away. after that i can download apps fine for some time but after awhile i get this weird problem again. any suggestions?

I'm getting the same error, have e-mailed the iTunes support desk, but recieved a reply that asked me to contact the iPad support desk (>_<) Have done that, but couldn't find a way to send them a copy of my screen shot via the express lane.

So, I'm attaching it here on the off chance that someone from apple support looks here.

I am getting the same annoying pop-up. It started last night for me when I downloaded an art app. The purchase went fine but the pop-up now happens when I purchaseUser uploaded file or download app updates. I am also attaching a screenshot. I have a ton of apps in folders too and don't really want to reset my iPad to correct the problem. There must be an easier fix perhaps at Apple's end, at least I hope there is.

FYI: I have an iPad 2 64GB.

Could our problem be related to WiFi Sync? Does anyone having the problem NOT have WiFi Sync turned on? I'm going to turn it off and see if I still get the problem. I'll report back.

I am also having to login to the app store with my iPhone before an app I've purchased on my iPad will download to it. Before, it would download automatically without me logging in. I downloaded a free app this morning on my iPad and when I turned on my iPhone, I was presented with the log in box. I'm really hoping there's a fix for this issue.

I noticed one thing ...this weird error message seem to happen when I download more than one app in the same time.... true?

But this thing just started to happen to me only 1 week ago... ( 1 month before...I never seen this error)

Quick update!

Got this reply from the support desk:

1) Sign out of the iTunes Store on your computer

2) Connect your iOS device to your computer

3) Sign into your account on your computer

4) Sync your iOS device with your computer

I haven't had the pop up error for 24 hours now, I've downloaded about 4 or 5 apps! So, fingers crossed!

I don't know if this is related or not, but I also ad to reset my apple ID password, which may have resolved the issue (had a message that my account had been suspended due to suspicious activity)

This did NOT work for me. I got the error twice already since this morning. I also notice the error sometimes appears when I update the apps on the iPhone. I will tap on "update", and it will take a WHILE before the apps that need to update appear. I press "Update all", there's no response, then I get the error message. When I clear the error, all works fine and fast again.

(1) Well the method in my orginal post did not actually work after all

(2) I tried konkon77's approach as well but no luck.

(3) I also turned off WiFi sync (I'm on an iPad 1, iOS 5.01 with OS X 10.6.8) but this didn't work either.

For what it's worth, I've noticed an increasing problem installing recently (same day) apps on the iPad directly (but not through iTunes on my MacBook Pro). THe download occurs but the app doesn't actually update and it still shows as "Update" inthe App Store (also in iTunes on the Mac).

There are so many factors that could impact this issue we are all experiencing. I am drawing the conclusion that the problem is sqaurely on Apple's end and relates to the whole iOS App Store process...which may well include iCloud syncing, account verification and even WiFi sync. It just looks like there is an information disconnect between elements of the sync process.

Not very scientific or prescriptive, I confess, but given the number of affected people (probably alot more than those posting here), I don't know what else to conclude. I have to believe Apple is not only aware of this, but is working on it. It might be a lot more comple than it appears on the surface. I guess if there is one consolation, it has not -- yet -- prohibited my downloads.

Unable to purchase.
