If you also have a computer, login to your iCloud account from the computer and create the groups and place the Contact entries into the groups as desired. Once created on the computer, you can access the groups through the iPad. Works in Mac Safari. They show up as a 'Groups' ribbon on the left-hand page of Contacts in iOS 5.1

I had this question, but here's how I handled it. I set up group cards on my desktop. Then I sent all the addresses to myself with the group emails in the text. Now when I want to send the group an email on my ipad, I just copy paste the whole text into the "To". Actually, I send it to myself and paste their names into the Bcc line so they don't all see everyone else's email address.

Try it.

It's better than nothing.

I have found out that if you want to send a group email say to "Group X", go to create a new contact and under company put Group X. Then in emails, type the desired emails separated by a comma and space, and then save. When you have to send a group email, go to the contact that you created. Tap on one of the emails in the field and your apple email app will open, and all of the addresses that you created under Group X will appear in the To: section. Type your subject and body and then press send and all contacts will receive the email.

I have not found a way to cut/paste the addresses from previous group emails to the contact/email area. So afaik you have to type them all in, but only once.

Gamerpete please help me!! Firstly let me explain, I am not a computer whiz and only battle through with my Ipad. Whilst travelling in 2013 I downloaded the MailShot app and successfully used it. Prior to departing on our travels, I upgraded to MailShot pro as I had established a group of 45 email addresses and my email was not being sent....I then started again and set up a group in the new app but whenever I try to send my message I get the window that says "Cannot Send Mail....a copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipients were rejected by the server."

I have checked all email addresses...deleted some...and worked on this for hours...please could you tell me what I might be doing wrong OR, advise me of another app to use (we leave very soon and I would love to have it sorted!!) Thank you!!

Hi Kathy

I'll be happy to help,

Please drop me a line from the "Support" button on the title page of the app (being careful to answer the second and third questions there, on how you are addressing your email.)

Using the Support button gives me some information on how your device is set up, and will enable me to help you more quickly.

Please let me know when you are leaving, too.
