how do I change the height of a row

My document keeps coming up with the text cut off because the font is larger than the row height. When I first enter the text, the row height is the right size. Only after I close and reopen the document later is the row height wrong. How do I manually set the height of a row?

Thanks

Bob

What you are facing let me think to what I get here.

In my accountings spreadsheet,

the rows are 14 points high

the font used is Helvetica Neue, Normal, size 9.

But, if I apply Fill Down somewhere, the height of every rows switch to 16 points.

As this behavior doesn't surface in a new document, I assume that something is corrupted.

I think I know what KOENIG is trying to say in his January 2012 comment, Barry... it's not a "wrap" issue, but something else that I've been seeing as well.

I have a document with many columns of data (a gradebook for my class), and occasionally I need to "Fill Down" by dragging the lower left corner down... the fill down part works well, but each of the rows gets re-sized. Selecting all of the rows and re-sizing them works fine, it is just kind of a drag... has anyone else seen this behavior? If not, then sorry for the interuption! Thanks for reading!

Hi Barry! Thanks for your quick reply, let me try to express my problem through a video instead:

In the video I show a typical spreadsheet, and I want to "fill down" a column using a formula (a simple "sum" of previous columns). Notice that the cell height was originally 0.13 inches.

After the successful "fill down", the row height is changed to 0.15 inches. None of the other heights were 0.15 inches (they are all 0.13 except for the top row which is 0.32 inches), yet this happens to me constantly.

You mentioned the "wrap" option to gagsworld, but this should not be a factor in row height lke this... or should it? I use Wrap for other things in my spreadsheet, yet I don't see how it would help here... but I am certainly not the Numbers (or even Excel) expert!!! 🙂

Thanks for your time (and patience); peace!
