Can't send aol mail from my iphone but can receive it. Help!

My iphone 4S was working this morning and I could send emails from my aol account, but all of a sudden, then next email I tried to send wouldn't send and I got an error message that said: Cannot Send Mail. The user name or password for "SMTP:xxxx@aol.com@smtp.aol.com" is incorrect. How can I fix this? I've tried turning it on airplane mode and off, deleting the aol account and adding it back on, doing a hard reset on the phone, but nothing has worked. Can someone help me? I"m receiving emails just fine, just no sending.

I've tried all these fixes but nothing seems to be working - - and now my screen is frozen with a draft on it that won't cancel OR send! My problem is on my iPad2

Turn it off and reboot it. I had the same problem this morning with my ipad 2.

so AOL (via twitter) tells me the problem has been fixed so I disconnect the additional server account...AND we're back to the same old issue...so they really didn't fix anything...

Tried everything with no luck but that final piece of advice to turn it off and reboot it seems to have fixed the problem!! Thanks!!

AOL support confirmed that this was a server problem on their end.

Is anyone else having trouble again today? my macbook cannot send out mail. This time: imap server errors all day. ?? here we go again? Have rebooted several times, and also re entered my account prefs. nothing seems to work/
