Can't send aol mail from my iphone but can receive it. Help!

My iphone 4S was working this morning and I could send emails from my aol account, but all of a sudden, then next email I tried to send wouldn't send and I got an error message that said: Cannot Send Mail. The user name or password for "SMTP:xxxx@aol.com@smtp.aol.com" is incorrect. How can I fix this? I've tried turning it on airplane mode and off, deleting the aol account and adding it back on, doing a hard reset on the phone, but nothing has worked. Can someone help me? I"m receiving emails just fine, just no sending.

Thanks Tiger8395. This solved my issue. I have had this issue for the last week and it has driven me crazy. I could not delete the Primary Server. I added a new server, but with the "@aol.com" and that didn't help. Your comment fixed my issue immediately. NOT including the "@aol.com" fixed my issue. What's funny is I have two AOL accounts on my phone and it only affected one. Thanks again!

i am having a problem with my aol email.

while using Wi-Fi it works fine.

while using lte i get an error :

cannot get mail the username or password is incorrect.

It's best to delete that account on your phone and then sign on with a new account and use a new password. Its real easy. But you will have to change your password with aol too so that you can get your emails on your phone.

I would suggest going to the Genuis Bar. They have helped me resolve issues with my phone many times. Good luck!

Thanks Cherylhi for sharing this. I was facing the same issue and it got resolved.

However it's a bit weird! it exactly the same setting as in the primary server but it works.

Customer support - are you listening? we might need a patch there

You are a genius, tiger8395! I was able to receive AOL mail on my IPad, and used to be able to send them, then something happened where I couldn't do the latter. I have been trying to rectify this for weeks, using Apple instructions, and nothing worked. I was at the point of calling Apple support and forking over whatever fee they asked for (which I find truly sad). Then I came across your post and gave your instructions a try. Worked first time like a charm!! Thank you SO much!!
