All my songs in the iTunes Library contain the correct album art, when I sync my 5th generation ipod classic I get the incorrect album arts. Example for a Tom Petty song I get a Stone Temple Pilots album art an so on. Anybody experiecing this issue?

I was having the same problem; album art in iTunes was correct, but on my iPod was all mixed up. Fortunately, I found this thread (thanks, people, for taking the time to report this and help us solve it!), and one of the solutions above worked--the one where you turn off sync for your iPod in iTunes, apply the change, then turn it back on, and apply again (resyncing your whole library to the iPod). Unfortunately, for 25GB of music, resynching your whole collection to correct a corrupted album art DB is a fairly TEDIOUS solution, but nevertheless, it solved the problem. Luckily, I've had this iPod for several years, and never had this problem until recently... or at least, maybe I never NOTICED it until now, because my new Altima shows album art when it's playing from the iPod (very cool). Hopefully it only HAPPENED recently, and doesn't happen again for another 4 or 5 years. If that's the case, this is a solution I can live with. If it starts happening more frequently than, say, every few months, however, you will start seeing angry posts from me on this forum/thread. 😐

No need for a factory reset. The issue is with corrupt database on your iPod device. Follow these instructions to fix the issue:

I had the exact same issue with my 60GB iPod - It did not bother me when the iPod was in my pocket but when plugged into my car and enlarged on the screen it was very annoying.
I tried de-selecting music syncing which removed all the music from the device then re-enabled and waited 2 hours for everything to be copied again (50+ GB of music). This did not correct the issue.
I then did a Restore in iTunes to reset the iPod to factory settings and re-synced again. This time it seems to have worked. I have looked at some tracks that I know were incorrect before and they are fixed and have looked at the first 100 tracks in song order and these all look fine.
Hopefully I am good from here, maybe it will work for you too. Just do not try it when you are in a hurry!
