Ex display warranty

I have the chance to buy an ex display macbook pro for £900 from a local PC World. It has a few small scratches on the lid but otherwise is perfect.

They say it will have a 12 month warranty but i worry that it may have been registered by the store.

Surely that way Apple will only honor the remainder of the 12 month warranty. I know i can take it back to PC World in the next year but i would rather deal with Apple should i have any problems.

So, how does this work...is it likely to be registered by the store and, if not, would my warranty begin when i register through itunes even if this machine is 6-8 months old?

If it has been registered how do i get a 12 month warranty with Apple? Do i have any grounds to ask for applecare for an extra 12 months?

Thanks for the replies but i am aware of both of those options there. However, i am still puzzles how the store can offer a 12 month warranty if the apple support does not have 12 months left. Lets say it has been registered and there is 6 months left. If it became faulty in 9 months how would it be fixed? I dont want to wait weeks for a repair as Pcworld try to fix this rather than apple. If it has not been registered in the store would i get a full 12 months from when i register it despite the fact it has been used for several months?
