Yes this worked for me too.

  • Settings
  • Notifications
  • Phone
  • Tun off 'Allow Notifications'

Will still ring and vibrate as normal but not while you are on a call

This is truly an annoying problem, it doesn't only happen with notifications it also happens with alarms and remainders going off in your ear during a call!! Please fix this it is truly a bug!

When your on a call the only thing that should be going off in your ear is the other person's voice at the other end! Vibration I could live with, but sound alarms!! Come on Apple!

In the AutoSilent App settings there is a slider "Mute During Phone Calls" Activate that and as long as the App is running you should be good. Now, this is a brand new update so who knows if there will be any glitches. What I do know is that I contacted them 3 weeks ago asking if they could create this option. They responded back to me within a day saying that it should be no problem to create. They actually assumed that the phone muted during calls and had no idea that this was even an issue! Then they sent me an email this morning letting me know about the new update. These guys are great!

Hi,

I realize this is an old-ish thread, but today I Googled "ios block notification when on a call", and this link came up. I tried cjbigham's suggestion to purchase the AutoSilent app from the AppStore for $3. I'll admit I was reluctant because nowhere in the app description did it say it would "Mute During Phone Calls", however, cjbigham was quite explicit that it had this functionality. So, I tried it, and I can confirm that it does in fact do this. However there's a catch, and for me it was a deal breaker: You have to give it access to your location settings, and it apparently tracks your location constantly -- even if you're not using the location based features. Why on earth this requirement, I have no clue. But hopefully this comment will help someone else make an informed decision before spending $3. Now I'm off to leave feedback for Apple so hopefully they can add proper support for this feature in a future release.

Good day.
