How do I sync my ipad with my MacBook Pro wirelessly? It says it is waiting for my MBP to become available?

How do I sync my ipad with my MacBook Pro wirelessly? It says it is waiting for my MBP to become available?

Hi. You should post a new question since this is a different problem. Describe what you're doing and how it fails. Be sure to include your iOS version and the version of iTunes. iOS 10 requires iTunes 12.5 or better. Be sure you're connecting to a working USB port.
Just making sure but .... You do have to have the Mac powered up and iTunes must be running on the Mac in order for this to work.
Make sure that you have set it up correctly. Step 6 is the step that some users forget to do. I made the type bold in the instructions.

I have the cable connected but can not locate device on the left hand side.
