Motion sensor broken on iPod touch, fixable?

I have had my iPod touch for two years and the motion sensor recently stopped working. I do drop it frequently, is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

iPod touch, iOS 4.3.1

Well then it's no wonder it's not working. If that's the case, then there's no way to fix it and it is not covered by warranty so buy a new one.

You can try the standard fixesto rule out a software issue:

- Reset. Nothing will be lost

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Restore from backup

- Restore to factory defaults/new iPOd

If you still have the problem than it is a hardware problem and replacement is required. Apple will exchang it for a refurbished one for:

Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
